Casey that weather is heading are way, not 10 degrees but colder and maybe some snow.

What did the roof like like!!

Last one to post before Thanksgiving wins....................not being a turkey!!

David, the roof was in good shape.  Just a very, very light dusting of snow so far, nothing to get worked up about.  They had that "heat tape" all around the edges and in the gutters (trying to reduce ice dams).  Also had a 60 A service (yikes) and a 1976 furnace that was retrofit to the old gravity feed heat system!  Ductwork EVERYWHERE!  I'll put some pics up when I get further on my report...

60 amp service Casey?  Wow, I guess no kids in that household and no electronics either.

Marcel; there was a brand spankin new "200 amp" meter socket...just the meter though, no box (located in the garage).  Panel rated at 150 amp...main breaker 60 amp...service wires were original, no idea what they're rated at. 

Active, in use knob & tube wiring in the basement and attic.  2 prong receptacles throughout most of home. 

The gentleman that lived there (now in assisted living) was 90 years old...there were lots of other crazy things...

Yup, 60 amps was sized right for that wiring.
Sounds like another interesting Love Shaq as Dale would say. 

Actually, it reminded me of my grandparents house!  Same style ("salt shaker" is what we've always called it), same kitchen cabinet hardware, even some of the same smells!  Weird, but cool at the same time.  I posted some pictures in the Electrical and HVAC sections here...
