Buy one, use it for a year and then let me know if I should buy one. 

Cameron, that's great!  In fact, I suggest you send me a check for about $1300 as a test fee!  ;D  I've looked at the hybrids, just not in the budget right now...

On the plus side:  it seems to have stopped "leaking"...going to give it a few more days here, see if she holds...anniversary this weekend and the Commander doesn't want a water heater as a gift!  ;D ;D ;D

I'll give you my father-in-law's number, he can give you a few tips.  He's going on 34 years with the same water heater. His wife would LOVE IT if she got a new one for her anniversary.  At this point I'm convinced the only thing holding that thing together is all the build-up which has to be present inside.

Well, sure looks like a good time for me to come win.
