When inspecting shower doors should there always be a stamp to indicate that it is safety glass?  If I don't see a marking then should I call it out as possibly not safety glass?

I ran into that situation this weekend, with a bedroom window.  Couldn't find a tempered stamp, so I stated I was unable to determine if it was tempered and suggested that it should be (glass was only 12" off the floor).
