Now that I have learned to create a Template. As a new person on the block in doing home inspections. I need to create a basic simple template of just starting out. I understand that you professionals that have been in this business for a long time, have you different ways to inspect. Can I get some advice as a newbee of getting started with this template. I have looked at several templates and I must say that all all professionally prepared.

Hi Harvey. We have a ton of guys in Tennessee that you can talk to. Give David Andersen, Charley Bottger or Gary Mann a call or hopefully they'll check the site tonight. I would just start out with the default template or the one you've edited and do a few inspections with it and see how it goes. You'll need to add or remove a few things depending on your area. Don't worry about going all out and making your own template until down the road when you have a grasp on the program.
You can post a PDF of the template you've made so guys can look over it and comment as well. As far as inspecting method, most guys take a tablet pc on site, or a laptop. Others take tons of photos and jot notes. You can print up a blank report and laminate it and use a dry erase pen so you can erase it when you're done. This is a quick and easy way to get use to things, especially in the beginning. |
