TOPIC: Template troubles

Hello all-

I am new to home inspections and Home Inspection Pro. I have done a handful of home inspections using HIP and the templates provided. The templates are good, but I don't know them and I spend too much time looking at the computer and not enough time observing.

I figure if I make a template I'll know it that much better and spend less time on the computer.

Any suggestion where to start?

Hi Bobby,

Welcome to the forums. I suggest you watch the 2 animated tutorials on working templates. Since you're new to inspections, I wouldn't advise creating your own as you might forget to include some important items. Pick a template you like, look over the dozens on the message boards too and print out the one you like and study it.


If you're not taking a computer on site them print a blank report and use it to fill out on site, you'll pick things up much faster.
