TOPIC: New headers and footers

As requested in the wish list thread, this is a copy of an idea posted there.

Since we are able to now put our company name, logo, inspector name, graphics, etc...  Whatever we want in a stationery, it has made the header and footer somewhat obsolete. Not entirely, but a little. Actually, I'm finding that having only two header and footer options makes creating stationery a bit hamstrung.

I would love one of two things:
1. Either a few more options to the header/footer selection,

• top right-address, bottom right-page
• top left-address, bottom right-page
• top-empty, bottom left-address, bottom right-page
• top center-address, bottom left-company, bottom right-page

And there's probably others which could allow for some more flexibility in stationery

2. Allow users to fill any number of six slots with the data they choose,

• top left
• top center
• top right
• bottom left etc, etc...

Number 2 would Rock! Then you could have total control over where things went and design stationery without trying to fit logos around pre-existing data.

The inspectors name or company has to be one of the fields that appears in the header/footer just because it helps us prevent people from stealing the software. Unfortunately we had a few in the past try to edit the PDF directly (sigh...).

I like the option of #2. Let me think about how to accomplish it while still requiring at least once piece of data.

The DVDs are right, piracy is not a victimless crime.

What if the program automatically included a small font copyright note in the bottom right corner of the page which included the company's name?

That's a possibility too, but others might not like that. I'd have to incorporate it as an option somehow.

Any more thoughts on this topic?

I would like make some changes to where items are located in the header and footer.

Not yet, just been swamped with some other new features but I definitely like the idea and it's on the todo list.
