Doing OK Marcel, thanks for asking, your report still gets looked at daily as I get the email stating report has been viewed.

Installed a water heater at my house yesterday.  Used the shark bite fittings, nice, no soldering.
My old tank was so full of sediment the drain valve hardly works and the old tank is still full off water.

How do you get the water out??

Is the drain valve assembly removable??

Hi. David.

Well now that your tank is disconnected, it might be a little harder to clear the valve.
When it is connected, you shut off the power, shut off the water feed to the tank, and connect a water hose to the drain valve. The other end is connected to a water source and then once removing the aerator on the sink faucet hot water side, you open the water and dislodge the sediment.

Now that it is disconnected, you can put a pan under the valve and see if you can dislodge the debris with a wire or small brush through the valve, but that might not work. Crimp the outlet pipe, and introduce air pressure or water pressure from another source and it might work the same way. Back and forth and back and forth. It should give way. Hopefully you have a floor drain close by.  ;D
