Casey, thanks what I am looking at is my health and the business as a whole and the direction it is going. I have not preformed a inspection on my own going on 4 months or better. I tried to to do 2 last week with help of my youngest daughter and would have not tried 2 if they where not for a client that has given me many referrals. My daughter is a go getter and loves to help me when ever she can.
Right now my phone is pretty much dead which is not a good sign last year this time it was rocking I have hit up agents and other associates and no Joy. I am looking at it this way I am feeling better than I have in a long time, but sooner or later I will need to go under the Knife I have no Idea what the out come will be or when.  
This time of year I have to renew my E.O. Insurance and with the Moisture Mold it is not cheap my coverage is running a tad over 4.5K per year. I need to re up a few associations & other things as well. In the last couple of weeks 5 more Home Inspection out fits have surfaced in my area we are getting run over with the low ballers $199.00 inspections up to 4999 sq ft. Some will say they won't last or they will short lived which is true but in a hard hit area like mine where 95% of all listings are REO short sales everyone whats inspections for the cheap most folks will go for the low cost inspection. I have not been is business long enough to have the clientele to keep me going. Now to add a little more I have been losing inspections because I am not CREIA, InterNACHI is just about unknown in SoCal believe it or not but I have been asked more than a few times.
So I am weighing my options and will see if I keep going or pull the pin....

Lou, I hear you on new guys popping up everywhere.  And they're coming in way, way low on pricing.  I feel terrible for people that go with the "El Cheapo" inspector.  I know there are plenty of guys facing the same situation, and I don't fault someone for trying to find work, but do your research and be competitive, not just cheap.  I guess I'm pretty frustrated with it myself.

Dom I use Legends that is GL,EO,Moisture/Mold they where the cheapest I could find last year there out of Orange,Ca.I can drop the Mold and go with a different company "Allen & FREA are High" and save $2,800.00 per yr.right now I have 2500 deductible $2,000,000 coverage I could drop the coverage down some. Most companies that offer Mold/Moisture get it from Legends.I was using first indemnity before.
CREIA membership I consider it thanks...
